Overview

Welcome to Circus, the platform used by thousands of productions to securely onboard, track time and pay their workers.

And remember, you only have to create your work profile once – we'll rollover all the right details and documents from job to job so you can effortlessly and quickly onboard.

Quick Guides

To get started, we've broken down our guides to help create and submit a start pack, then track your time and get paid. Click on any of the links throughout to learn more.

  1. First step is Creating a Start Pack. There are 2 common methods to create one:

    1. Locked Invites are sent via email by someone in the production office where deal points are fixed. Click on the Start Onboarding to get started.

    2. Open Invites let you use a unique link or QR code to access the Start Pack and independently set your own deal points, based on agreements with department heads or according to union agreements. Click on the link or scan the QR code.

Either way, you'll be asked to sign up for an account or log in. After, you'll immediately be redirected to your Start Pack's welcome page. Read the pre-onboarding note, then click Onboard below.

Note: If after logging in or signing up you are not redirected to your start pack, either click on the link again. If you've received an email invite, ensure you've logged in or created an account with the same email address as the invite.

  2. Next step is to update the various sections in your Work Profile. These are the details that productions require to process your payment and learn more about you as a worker.

    1. Create A Character - Update your headshot & contact details.

    2. Offer Kits & Licenses - Add inventory lists, licenses & certificates if you've been granted a drone, box kit rental, or vehicle allowance.

    3. Declare Residency - Add taxpayer status & upload proof of residency documents. You will most likely bypass this page if you are working on a commercial or short film.

    4. Setting up Payment - Connect your bank account (only if the production is using Circus for payments).

  3. Once each page of your work profile is complete, you will be prompted to review, sign and submit your Start Pack.

  4. If there are any changes to your Start Pack, the production office will send you a dispute email with a link to review any notes or changes to your deal points for you to review, address, and re-sign. Ensure that you sign everything until you've reached your dashboard and it says that your Start Pack is in review.

  5. And if the production has activated Time Tracking for your production, you can submit a Timesheet or Invoice directly to the production and get paid via direct deposit.
