Updated over a week ago

πŸ” To Dispute a Start Pack, you'll need either Circus Admin, Admin, or Manager access. Learn more about Managing Permissions. This feature is only accessible to πŸ–₯️ desktop users.

Overview

It's integral that productions have the tools to dispute any Start Pack to meet compliance from a legal, payroll, union or residency perspective. That's why Circus makes it incredibly easy to edit deal points across multiple documents and add dispute notes for Workers to address, re-sign and re-submit for review.

Pro Tip: If you're only disputing a Start Pack to capture new proof of residency documents, try using the Upload Documents feature when reviewing a submission.

Triggering Disputes

You can trigger a Start Pack dispute from one of two locations:

Overview Page

If you're looking at all the Start Packs on the Overview page, you can quickly dispute a Start Pack by clicking the more icon (3 dots) next to the Worker's name, then clicking Edit or Dispute from the dropdown list, which will take you through the Dispute process below.

Pro Tip: Admins typically use this method for Approved Start Packs to quickly edit deal points but it can also be utilize during any phase of a Start Pack.

Start Pack Submission

Approvers and others with elevated access can also dispute a Start Pack while reviewing the actual submission.

When viewing a Start Pack, click on the Walkie icon in the top right of your screen, then select the Dispute tab. You can continuously pull out this panel to add notes by clicking the the Add (+) icon while reviewing.

To proceed with the dispute with the option to edit deal points, click the Dispute Start Pack button.

Adding Dispute Notes

The dispute workflow allows you to first add any relevant notes such as:

  • directions to update the work profile (ie. incorrect address or legal name change)

  • directions to replace documents (ie. new proof of residency documents)

  • or notes on why some deal points will be altered (ie. "Changing kit rate as per our deal")

If you've disputed from a Start Pack submission, the notes will carry over but you can also add more notes at this stage by entering the note into the provided field, then clicking the Add Note button.

If you've arrived here from the Overview page and you don't want to add any notes, you can also click the Skip button to edit deal points instead.

πŸ—‘οΈ Undeleted Dispute Notes may prevent the next person from approving a Start Pack so ensure you either complete your dispute or click the Delete Icon next to the note/s to clear them all.

Editing Deal Points

Any changes to the Start Pack's deal points can be altered here, including the ability to convert someone from being through Accounts Payable vs Payroll, or vice versa.

If no deal points are altered, you may click the Skip button but If deal points have been altered, click the Save & Continue button to review the Summary of notes and changes.

Reviewing & Sending

Circus will summarize all deal points changes as well as all the dispute notes – If you're ok to proceed click Send Dispute.

Post Dispute

Workers will immediately receive an email notifying them that their Start Pack has been disputed and action is required.

When they click Start Onboarding, the Worker will be able to review that same summary, then click Re-onboard to make any changes and re-sign the Start Pack, if applicable.

For Admins, there are a few things to keep in mind for disputed Start Packs:

  • The original version of the Start Pack will always be accessible from the Overview page by clicking the Open button when hovering over their Start Pack, even when it's being disputed.

  • To keep track of disputed Start Packs, you'll see Updated Invite Sent on the Overview page. You'll be notified when the Start Pack has been re-submitted.

  • To resend a reminder to the Worker to complete the Start Pack, use this guide.

  • When the new version Start Pack is re-submitted, Admins can access and download the old version by clicking Walkie when viewing the Start Pack. Note that the older version of the Start Pack will only be available if it was previously fully approved.
