Overview
You've already accessed your Start Pack and now it's time to either create or update your work profile, which is where you can store and share all the details and documents for every company that hires you to work on your production.
π Pro Tip: Is your work profile already complete from a previous production? Skip over to your Start Pack by clicking Review & Sign Docs in the left navigation.
So that we can create a pre-filled Start Pack that you can easily and quickly review and sign, you may be required to complete 5 main sections before being able to review and sign your Start Pack:
Create a Character - your headshot, personal and emergency contact details, and union affiliations.
Health & Safety - your health and dietary concerns so catering and craft service can take care of you on set and off.
Offer Licenses & Kits - Uploading licenses and certificates related to your role in the industry, as well as any inventory lists and documentation for allowances and box kit rentals.
Declare Residency - Adding your local and federal residency status with proof of residency documents for tax credit purposes.
Submit Payroll - Connecting your bank account and adding taxpayer information.
Creating a Character
The first section in your work profile is to Create a Character where you will provide each production with your contact details.
You can optionally upload a headshot so your fellow Workers can put a face to the name on a call sheet. Click on the Photo icon to either take a photo or upload one.
Next, it's important that your Legal Name matches what appears on either your passport or drivers license. This name will appear on each contract of your Start Pack.
Pro Tip: To be referred to or credited differently from your legal name, check the below box, then enter an alternate name.
Add your direct phone number that you use for work, then your birthdate which may be used to pre-populate onto several documents of your Start Pack.
It's also optional to add your pronouns to inform your colleagues how to refer to you on set. Choose your preferred pronoun by clicking on the dropdown. If you cannot find your preferred pronoun, choose Custom which will allow you to enter your own.
In case of an emergency, the production office will need to know who to contact. Enter the Emergency Contact Name, Relation (ie. Parent, Partner/Spouse, etc) and Phone Number.
Lastly, you may see a section to input your union affiliation because:
Someone from the production office has sent you a locked invite and your role must fall under the union they are signatory to. To proceed, choose non-member as a Member Status if you are not a member of this union.
You've received an open invite and have added this particular union on the Set Deal Points page. Check with your department head or the production if you think your role should be non union.
Choose your known member status from the union's recognized list in the dropdown. You may be prompted to provide a Member ID however if you do not currently have one, enter Unknown in the provided field.
β
If you do not see anywhere to input your union details, it means the production you are being employed on is not signatory to your union and you must onboard as a non union member.
β
Pro Tip: Unsure you're allowed to work on a non union production? Check with your union reps.
Health & Safety
If you see this section, the production has enabled you to optionally provide health or dietary requests that can be addressed by the production office, catering or craft services on set or off. You can skip this section or choose multiple requests by clicking on each option.
β
You can add any missing special requests or comments in the notes field below.
If you don't see this section and you have health or dietary concerns, please consult with the production office.
