Updated over 8 months ago

Overview

There are quite a few ways to upload documents to a Start Pack while onboarding. Use this article to help you understand what issues you might be having based on which device you're using.

Upload Note: Circus only accepts PDF, PNG & JPG file formats

General Issues

Sometimes the issue is really simple. Before diving into which device you're using, try troubleshooting with one of these solutions:

  1. You browser may be out of date. If you update your browser that could fix the problem.

  2. The cache for your browser needs to be cleared.

  3. It might be the internet connection you are using. If you are on wifi, try cellular data instead.

If none of these work, choose your device, then follow the steps:

Apple iPad or iPhone

After tapping the Upload Button on an Apple device, whether it be any generation of the iPad or iPhone, you'll be offered 3 ways to upload a file:

  • Option 1: Take Photo - Triggers the camera to take a picture of a physical document to upload.

  • Option 2: Photo Library - Choose from your photos library

  • Option 3: Choose a File - Choose a file saved locally to your device or or any storage app.

Option 1: Take Photo

Tap Take Photo on your device, then take a clear picture with the entire document in the frame. If it's unclear tap Retake to snap another photo. If you're happy, tap Use Photo. Your document will then automatically upload to your start pack with a blue check next to the file type as shown in the image above.

Note: Circus only accepts a single document upload. For files with multiple pages, choose File method.

Option 2: Photo Library

The easiest way to upload a recently saved photo or file on your device is by tapping Photo Library, then Recents Album, unless it's been saved to another folder, which can be found on the same screen by scrolling down. Once found, tap the photo or file it'll automatically upload to your start pack with a blue checkmark next to the file type as shown in the image above.

Option 2.1: Google Drive

If your file is stored in Google Drive or a similar file storage app, you'll need to first save the file to your Photos Library.

Navigate to the Google Drive app and find your file. Click on the more icon (3 dots) at the top right of your device, then choose Send a copy from the menu.

Tap Save Image. Tap OK to prompt Drive to Add the file to your Photos.

Follow the steps in Option 2: Photo Library – your file will be saved in the Recents Folder.

Option 3: Choose File

If Choose File is tapped, by default you'll view all your most recent files. But if it's saved elsewhere, tap Browse in the bottom navigation, then use the folders or search bar at the top of the device to locate your file. Once found, tap the photo or file it'll automatically upload to your start pack with a blue checkmark next to the file type as shown in the image above.

Android Phone

After tapping the Upload Button on an Android device, you'll be offered 2 ways to upload a file:

  • Option 2: File - Choose a file saved locally to your device or or any storage app.

Option 1: Camera

Tap Camera on your device, then take a clear picture with the entire document in the frame. If it's unclear tap the Reset Icon to snap another photo. If you're happy, tap the Checkmark Icon which is the same button as Take Photo. Your document will then automatically upload to your start pack on Circus with a blue check next to the file type as shown in the image above.

Note: Circus only accepts a single document upload. For files with multiple pages, choose File method.

Option 2: File
